Windows Sideshow gadget - DnC Multimedia PMP

DnC Multimedia announced the latest Windows Sideshow gadget to hit the market. It’s called the Personal Media Player (PMP) and is a device that uses the Windows Sideshow technology introduced in Windows Vista.

While other gadgets of this kind are added to the exterior of a laptop, this Windows Sideshow gadget uses instead a wireless connection. The user can access this feature of Vista to retrieve information from a laptop or a desktop computer wherever he wants.

This slim and light Windows Sideshow gadget comes with enough preinstalled software to satisfy all the needs. The PMP has a web browser, all the necessary tools to view Office files plus extra like games or utilities to organize schedules. To enter text the gadget has a virtual 3D keypad and uses also a 3D Smart user interface.

The PMP has also a good storage capacity because it can take up to 8GB and has a SD card interface. With a 3.5” LCD touch screen (240 x 320 resolution) this Windows Sideshow gadget will also function as a great multimedia content player. The Personal Media Player can handle AVI and WMV video files, MP3, WAV and WMA audio files and also BMP, GIF and JPEG images.

This Windows Sideshow gadget that uses supports the 802.11x technology is also a Global Positioning Satellite receiver. DnC Multimedia has also announced that future versions of this Windows Sideshow gadget will be able to provide cellular telephone functionalities. The Personal Media Player supports the VoIP and IPTV protocols though.
